Dr Martin Reynolds is an economist by training and has had an extensive career in UK higher education leadership, including service as Dean and Pro-Vice-Chancellor at leading UK business schools. Across more than four decades, he has developed deep expertise in institutional governance, academic quality assurance, and work-based learning design, aligned with UK academic and professional standards.
Martin chairs CognateUK's Advisory Board and chaired the Critical Review of the programme, then called FutureReady and now CognateHelix, at Innovate Cambridge in February 2026. He provides ongoing mentoring and challenge as CognateUK develops its approach to capability formation. Drawing on his long experience in practice-based management education, he helps us test assumptions, sharpen how we frame problems, and examine how experience, context and judgement contribute to capability in practice.
